Linda Kirkland Obituary

Linda Kirkland, 55, was called home to the Lord on March 15, 2019, with her family by her side. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Crestview, FL. Linda was born January 2, 1964, in Alexandria, Virginia to Gary and Jytte Butcher. They moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1978.
She attended Fort Walton Beach High School in Fort Walton Beach, FL, graduating in 1982. She continued her education at Troy State University earning a bachelor's degree in computer science.
She enjoyed Auburn football, traveling the country in her RV, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. A very special place to her was her mountain home in North Carolina where she spent many vacations enjoying the beautiful scenery and entertaining guests. She was a gifted hostess and generous and thoughtful person. A giver and servant by nature, blessing those around her. Linda was a loving and devoted mother to her only son, Kyle Nathan Kirkland, whom she enjoyed raising. They shared many adventures together, over the years, making wonderful memories. Linda was dearly loved by so many and will be missed, greatly. She is survived by her son, Kyle Kirkland; mother, Jytte Butcher; former husband, Curt Kirkland; mother and father-in- law, Gene and Carolyn Kirkland; 2 sisters-in-law, Lisa Bess and Lori Smith and their families, and many aunts, uncles and cousins from the mid-west. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Butcher. If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, donate in memory of Linda Kirkland to Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com
