Born: December 22, 1933 in Chicago, IL
Died: October 8, 2025 in McHenry, IL
Alex E. Heinze, age 91, of McHenry IL and formerly Glenview IL passed away peacefully October 8, 2025. Beloved husband to Tekla, nee Bryant, for 68 wonderful years. Devoted father to Tom Heinze, Steve (Patricia) Heinze, and Debbie (Orville) Pascoe. Loving grandfather to Tim, Danny (Haley), Travis, Kyle (April), and Shannon Heinze. Alex was trained as a pilot in the Air Force and enjoyed flying recreationally for many years. He was able to take his family on many adventures. Alex and Tekla lived in many places after he retired. In Arizona he was known as "Handy Al," he was proficient in many home improvement skills. Alex had a tough outer shell, but he had a heart of gold underneath. He will be deeply missed. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry, IL from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the McHenry Kiwanis Club in Alex's name, Kiwanis Children's Fund- P.O. Box 6457 – Dept #286 Indianapolis, IN 46206 USA.
