Anthony Allen Obituary

Anthony E. Allen
Born: February 8, 1967 in Chicago, IL
Died: August 29, 2025 in Chicago, IL
Anthony Edmond Allen, 58, of Algonquin, passed away August 29, 2025, at Loyola Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1967, in Chicago to Robert and Floy (Policheri) Allen.
Tony met his wife, Kelli, at Iowa State University. They married on November 7, 1992, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Park Forest, and were blessed with two sons, Joshua and Zachary.
After beginning his career in corporate communications, Tony discovered his true calling in education. For more than 20 years he taught high school, most recently at South Elgin, and spent over 30 years coaching soccer, most recently at Crystal Lake South. He had a gift for encouraging students and athletes to grow into the people they were meant to be.
He was known for his tireless work ethic, quick smile, and easy sense of humor that put others at ease. He loved history, sports, and above all, being a dad. Whether on the sidelines or at home watching games, his greatest joy was time spent with Josh and Zack.
Tony is survived by his wife, Kelli; sons, Joshua and Zachary; sister, Kelley (Jeff) Van Keuren; father-in-law, John C. Hopkins III; brother-in-law, Kevin (Jemerie) Hopkins; and sister-in-law, Shannon Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Floy Allen and mother-in-law, Sheila Hopkins.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 5, from 4:00 p.m. until prayers at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 2918 Country Club Rd., Woodstock, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
