Anthony "Tony" Wells, 75, of Crystal Lake passed away on Friday, 9 February 2018 at JourneyCare in Woodstock, Illinois.

Tony was the son of Marvin and Irene Naslund Wells and was born on 7 November 1942 in Woodstock. He attended grade school and high school in Crystal Lake, graduating from CLCHS in 1961. He served his country for four years with the USAF, serving two years in Texas and two years in France as a jet mechanic.

After the Air Force he went to California and was hired by United Airlines as a airline mechanic. He worked at United for about twenty years in San Francisco and almost twenty years in Chicago, retiring with almost forty years with the company in 2005. On 28 December 1968, he married Ann Foster in Los Altos, California. Tony and Ann had three children, Jennifer, Matthew, and Jeremy. Tony was a friend of Bill W for over 36 years. His retirement years were spent helping and mentoring those who were also friends of Bill W.

Tony is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughter, Jennifer (Joaquin) Camacho; his son, Jeremy (Erik Wagner) Wells; his adored grandsons, Joaquin, Nick, and AJ Camacho; his sister, Janet (Craig) Narowetz; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Matthew; and his brother, Jim.

A memorial will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 West Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake, IL at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, 17 February 2018, with a luncheon following.
