Born: June 21, 1958; in Troy, MO

Died: Oct. 21, 2015; in McHenry, IL

Barbara Bono, age 57, of McHenry, passed away October 21, 2015 in McHenry, surrounded by her family and friends after a long battle with ALS. She was born on June 21, 1958 in Troy, Missouri, the daughter of Eugene and Pat (Prindiville) Weitzel. On September 24, 1977 she married Joseph Bono at St. Gertrude Church, Franklin Park.

Barb enjoyed crafts, refinishing antiques and going to flea markets and fairs.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; and her children, Nicholas Bono of South Elgin, Angela (Steve) Shetsky of Richmond and Ryan Golden of McHenry. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Allegra, Abriana, and S.J. Shetsky; and her brothers and sisters, Kathy Bittner, Tom Weitzel, and Pam Golden; along with brothers-in-law, Gary, Vince, and Phil Bono; and sister-in-law, Sharon Fabian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Pat Weitzel.

Final arrangements will be private.
