Charles Bachmann Obituary

Charles E. Bachmann

Born: March 27, 1948; in Chicago, IL

Died: August 14, 2017; in Mesa, AZ

Charles E. Bachmann, 69, passed away August 14, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona with his loving wife at his side.

He was born on March 27, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Wilbur and Anne Bachmann. Chuck was a long time Illinois resident until he moved to San Tan Valley, AZ with his wife, Jeanna, in 2013. Chuck was a Vietnam Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. Chuck retired from GexPro (GE) after working 34 years there. Chuck and Jeanna were married in 2012. He enjoyed his retirement traveling around Arizona with his wife. Chuck was a very involved Dad and Grandpa, always to be seen on the side lines of any soccer, football and hockey game "coaching" the team on. Chuck was always the life of the party and made sure that a good time was had by all by making up fun games to play. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanna; his sons, Walter Anestsberger, Mike Bachmann, Paul Bachmann, CJ Bachmann and Sean (Tiffany) Bachmann; his step-sons, Eric (Sarah) Slavik and Mike Slavik; his Grandchildren, Charlie, Sean, Brooke, Brendan, Keeleigh, Brianna, Walter Jr, Krystal, Whitney,Jennifer, Emma, Adeline, Scarlett and Amelia; and 10 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Anne Bachmann; his sister, Annette Casten; his Uncle's Albin Bobnic, Frank Bobnic; and Aunt Amelia Wailey.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 16, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Park Place Banquets, 406 W Woodstock Street Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Charlie and I were in Nam together. Our buddy Rick Philo notified me about Charlie this evening. Charlie was a breath of fresh air, care free and always making you smile. Charlie brought light into darkness. I hope to laugh with him again.

We have been friends of Charlie for 47+ years. Charlie was also the type of person that kept everyone laughing. He loved having a good time and most of our "Fun" memories are when we went camping. Both Bill & I were lucky to talk with him a few days before he died. He has wonderful sons who will keep his memory alive.
Charlie you will always be missed by us. Rest in Peace.
We Loved You,
Bill & Linda Schiestel

I will miss his smile, his stopping by to have me go shopping and lunch with him, he came over 3 or 4 times a week and called when he didn't come to visit. He once drove from Chicago to Mesa just to come for dinner!
