Mr. Daniel Edward Eyles, age 77, of Crystal Lake, IL, passed away on Monday evening, July 7th, 2025, at Northwestern Hospital in McHenry, Il. His passing was peaceful with all his children and many other loved ones by his side. He was born on January 8th, 1948, in Michigan City, Indiana to his parents, Daniel and Dorothy Eyles.
Dan was an Army veteran and an avid lover of Harleys. Dan's real passion was for people. He genuinely enjoyed meeting people and learning and caring about their lives. A three-hour trip to the grocery store for hamburger buns was not uncommon. He probably knew at least half a dozen people at the store and probably met just as many while there. The number of times he selflessly gave up whatever he was doing to help others is uncountable. He loved to joke and clown around and tell stories with everyone.
For over 40 years, Dan owned and operated Eyles Construction, Inc., specializing in excavation and concrete work. He also installed many inground swimming pools. Odds are that whatever street you live on in Crystal Lake, Dan worked on it at some point over the years.
Dan loved his family fiercely and is survived by his children Matt (Dana) Eyles, Scott (Tyline) Eyles, Beth (Rick) Lagerhausen, Jason Eyles, Jessi (Kyle) Eyles, and Dan Jr.; his grandchildren, Cara, Lilah, Oliver, Xander, Kayden, Colt, and Spencer; his great grandchildren, Sienna and Lennox; his siblings, Connie (Dave) Burdloff, Kitty (Jim) Romersberger, and Randy (Jean) Eyles; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless dear friends that will miss him deeply.
