Having know Dan since I was 4 years old I can honestly speak to the point that he was a wonderful human being. Both he and Marie have always been another set of grandparents to me. Dan would let me mow the grass during the summers while my day was training on Saturdays and Sunday's, my first taste of brisket was at the Bailey Bash, and the lunch meat sandwiches along the creek will always be ingrained in me. Both Dan and Marie came to my wedding almost 7 years ago to just be there for me. Unfortunatly over the last few years I hadn't gotten to see them as much as I would like and I take the blame for that. Maybe that is part of the reason why I just learned of Dan's passing not long ago. It breaks my heart to have not been able to attend his memorial. Many folks will say that the ESS world will never be the same, while that is absolutely the truth, I say the world will never be the same. Dan was truly one of a kind.

Dan and Marie are owed a debt of gratitude by those of us who were touched by their kindness and generosity, the Springer world is poorer for Dan's passing.

Marie..so sorry to learn of Dans passing. I still remember when he was putting on our addition and how funny he was! We did enjoy you both as our neighbors. Jonnie and family

I am an English Springer Spaniel lover. I bought my second ESS from Dan and Marie 15 years ago and named him Foster. He has been gone for several years now, but I have learned to appreciate and love this dog breed through his advice. I now own two additional Springers both sired by his champion dog Tommy. Dan was truly one of the the most knowledgable and respected breeders of ESS in the entire country. His expertise will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
