Delbert LeRoy Parsons

Died: November 26, 2022
Delbert LeRoy Parsons was a man who carried a joy for life. Whether he was sinking a putt or telling a funny story, everyone who came into contact with Del was somehow touched by his enthusiasm. We say goodbye to 78-year-old Del Parsons, who died this past Saturday after a long battle with lung cancer. He will be remembered for his lifelong friendships, positive spirit and for his gift of making others smile.
Those who knew him will fondly remember him walking his dog Laddie, or chatting with a neighbor and sharing encouraging words. It was well known that he was a committed member of the United Church of Christ in Bartlett, Illinois. He was always cheerful in his role as Buildings and Groundsman, where he was responsible for maintaining the church for the congregation. Many described Del as making friends everywhere he went, and everyone who was close to him will miss his positive outlook and fun-loving personality.
He was born to Earl and Kathryn Parsons of Jamestown, Kansas, August 6, 1944. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, 79; his son Timothy and daughter Tammy; grandchildren Stephanie Kuzelka; (and grand-son in law, Ryan Kuzelka) and Joshua Parsons; grandchildren Taylor, Hunter and Addisen Petersen and great grand-children Mia and Rylee Kuzelka and Colson Parsons.
He is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters; Raymond Parsons of Persia, Iowa, Gary Parsons of Jamestown, Kansas and his sisters that include Clara Stegmaier and Ruby Conn of Jamestown, Kansas and Evelyn Tholstrup of Concordia, Kansas. His three sisters who are still living include Donna Lefort of Salina; Mary Newton of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Sandra Pae (and only living brother-in law Fred Pae) of Granbury, Texas and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Del was in the air conditioning and heating business for more than 50 years. In 1978, he started a business with Ted Thomas named Temperature Engineering. Temperature Engineering was a successful company that they ran for more than 40 years together and continues on to this day. His partner was a dear friend and they had much success in their business venture.
