Katie & family,
I had the pleasure of meeting your father when he was a patient here at GSH. He was such an amazing man, never complained and spoke highly of his children. Hold on to all of your wonderful memories and please accept my deepest sympathy. Tina Dougherty

I am a close friend of Cheryl’s and live in Monticello, IL. Cheryl often talks about her brother and his sense of humor and acceptance of life’s hardships. He is an inspiration to all who know and love him and to those of us who never met him. His strength and courage live on in our hearts. May our Lord’s promises of joy, peace, and everlasting life bring comfort and restoration to you.

Such a loss is hard to explain...Don was so much more than a casual friend to us. His dry humor will be missed forever, as well as his stories. His great compassion, and the wisdom to help sort out life will be so very missed. Alex loved his "taster" pal, and his many dishes were Don's joy. My own attachment to Don was different, and our many hours talking about the Lord will be my most treasured memory. I know where he is, and I know he is dancing. R.I.P. friend!

To the Speer Family:
I could never tell you how many times I thought my gut would split from Don. He was one of the funniest people I have ever known and also like a big brother to me during our teenage years. The only one I ever knew who ate vanilla ice cream with peas and had the "miracle cure" for cramps. He was one special guy and I am sure you will all miss his laugh! Cheryl, my thoughts and prayers are with you..
Godspeed, Rocky Raccoon!

The world just lost one of it's brightest stars, but I know he is now shining down on us and dancing again, Don't cry for what we lost, smile for what we had, one beautiful man!
