Frederick L. Libert
Born: January 13, 1939
Died: December 22, 2022
Frederick L Libert, 83 of Fox River Grove, IL passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife, three children, and daughters-in-law on December 22, 2022.
Fred was born in Chicago, IL on January 13th, 1939, to Frederick and Helen Libert. They preceded him in death along with his sister Chris Lubkeman.
Fred met the love of his life Penny while teaching together at Orchard Street School in Fox River Grove and they married on August 12, 1967. They were married for 55 years. He will be remembered most for being humble, kind, and hardworking.

Our deepest condolences to Penny and the family. I met Fred in 1986 as a freshman on the wrestling team at Jacobs High School in Algonquin, IL. Shortly before the wrestling season, Fred had met my folks at parents' night and let them know that if my brother Kevin and I went out for the wrestling team, he could drive us home after practice since both he and we lived in Fox River Grove. That was key for me in deciding to go out for wrestling instead of basketball; a decision I'll never regret. Toward the end of the wrestling season, Fred and Penny took my brother Kevin and I to see the state wrestling tournament at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL (Assembly Hall); a fantastic experience I'll never forget. Fred instilled a lot of discipline in his wrestlers at meets and practices but was very approachable off the mat and had a heart of gold. May he rest in peace. Brian & Milena Butler & family.
