I remember George from the days when I worked for United Airlines at their EXO facility on Algonquin Road in Elk Grove Village. I would call in an order for mushrooms to be delivered weekly, after gathering orders from co-workers for the wonderfully fresh mushrooms. Occasionally I would drive over to the farm facility off Higgins in Elk Grove and pick up some boxes. George was a wonderful man and always cheerful. Great memories of those days in the late 1960's/early 1970's. May he rest in peace.

George never met a stranger. He was the friendliest guy. We will miss that along with his quirky sense of humor. So many things to remember him by such as Choir, greeting people during and after church services, callling just to chat, the Living Nativity and many more things.

Gig was a loving cousin, and one of the few people left. who knew me my entire life.
We shared so many memories, including special childhood ones. I remember when he won a pony and later what a terrific horseback rider he became. One of the last gifts I ever sent him was a subscription to Western Horseman for Christmas last year, and he often commented in our phone conversation how much he enjoyed leafng through that monthly magazine.

We shared many Christmases, birthdays, and other special family events. I remember his wedding to Barb in rural Wisconsin and what a wonderful couple they made. I have a vivid memory of visits with my cousin, Kathy and Gig everywhere from Lake in the Hills, Illinois to Door County, Wisconsin. My heart goes out to Scott and his family. Your dad will be greatly missed.

So sorry, Scott and Nena, to hear about George. Your dad was a great guy, and he loved being with you on your farm. I have great memories of picking up orders at their house and I end up chatting for an hour. And also seeing him on the farm, just like his picture. Wonderful memories! Prayers and lots of hugs for you all.
