Gladys Bacon Obituary

CARY – Gladys Elizabeth Bacon, 78, of Cary, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit in Woodstock.

She was born March 15, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Ferdinand and Gladys Nesler.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ferdinand "Bud" Nesler and John Nesler; and a daughter-In-law, Nori Bacon.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt University and a member of First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, where she participated in many church activities. She enjoyed sailing and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, William J. Bacon, whom she married Aug. 15, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa; two sons, Bruce Bacon of Livonia, Mich., and Richard (Linda) Bacon of West Bloomfied, Mich.; four grandchildren, Derek, Alexander, Sarah and Kevin Bacon; and her sisters-In-law, Rita Nesler and Marcia Nesler.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 455 Pierson St., Crystal Lake.

Memorials would be appreciated to First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake.
