Tracie and family, I am stunned to learn of Jim's untimely death. Please accept our sincere condolences. I met Jim shortly after my Mom had passed away 20 years ago. I think he had just started Tyler Cole. He finished our basement, and since has re-done our kitchen, all of our bathrooms, replaced our front door, our floors, our walkway, the back of our house after the deck was removed and painted the whole interior. I've spent hours with him and we considered our contractor, our friend! He loved his family and would often show me pics of you all, most recently I think at a concert. I'm so sorry we missed the service. Jim will be in my prayers as will all of you. We will miss his smile and easy laugh, and his "can do" spirit.
God bless,
Julie and Mike Segerson

I just heard of Jim's passing yesterday and was shocked and saddened by a life taken too soon.
I am sending my heartfelt prayers for peace to all who loved Jim and that Jim's memory will bring Tracie, the kids and all of those who loved him comfort and of course a lot of laughs. Jim always had a unique glint in his eye. I swear you could see the wheels turning all of the time. Admittedly his very creative mind got him into a bit of trouble in the teen years ;) I remember his love for cars - the Impala SS, the GTO and his first El Camino.
I moved away decades ago, but recall on one visit home shortly after he met Tracie. It was obvious he had found the ONE. He was so very happy. I am so touched to read all of the stories about the family man he became and the love he has for the kids and Tracie. The world definitely lost a special soul. God Speed.

For all of his life, Jim has been a special character. His sense of humor, and his smile, have always been infectious.
Due to geography and life's distractions, I lost contact with Jim for too many years. By the grace of God, we reconnected last year and it was as if we had picked up right where we left off.
Jim's love of his family was so evident in our conversations and his untimely death is a reminder to all of us how important it is to never take the people we love for granted. Never be shy about saying, "I love you". Don't put off for "tomorrow", the opportunity to show them how much you love them. Do it today.
There is no doubt that Jim's life on earth has earned him a place in heaven and serves as an inspiration for the rest of us.

Joe and Jim although not very often, would have the longest conversations on the phone about everything in life. I think we stood in his driveway for an hour after dropping off his truck one time. Tracie and family, you are in our prayers and so sorry for your loss! The Remke's

We are so very sorry for your loss. Jim was a great guy. We have fond memories of our St. John's Days with the kids and St. Johns Playday outings many years ago now. Jim was amazing when we needed some work done on our house after a tree fell over our family room. I still remember like it was yesterday when the insurance claims guy came out to look everything over and came back with an amount they would pay to "fix" the roof, siding and hole in our ceiling. After Jim came over to to look at it he went back and contacted the insurance company himself and after what was probably a couple of days he calls us and says he got them to more that double their initial claim amount because he argued what really needed to be done. He was so great and patient with my inability to pick a paint color I wanted and almost last minute thought to add skylights in our very dark room. I will never forget and still have a daily reminder when I am in this room what he did for us and think we wouldn't have a great room if it wasn't for him.
Our hearts go out to Tracie and the kids. Please know your dad leaves behind a legacy in you and in the work he did in so many homes. I pray your days ahead are easier knowing he will be watching over you and lives on in all the work he did and most importantly in you.

To our niece Tracie and Tyler, Madison and Judge. We are so sorry about the passing of your husband and father Jim. I remember meeting Jim at a family cruise. We really hit it off and had a great time together. Actually Ty that was also when we got to meet you too. When we left, we found a note under our door from Tracie and Jim saying goodbye and what a great time we all had. We were touched. When it was time to sell Grandpa Roy and Grandma Elda´s Foxlake home, Jim helped us out with work that needed to be done. He was happy to do it and took care of it quickly. We were very impressed and grateful. We hope that your good memories of him will help to ease your pain in time. With love and prayers to you all.

We are deeply saddened by Jim's death and send our sincere condolences to his family. Jim started as our builder, but ended as our friend. He loved my husbands coffee and they spent a lot of time swapping stories as he helped us bring the vision for our home to life. His stories often included the latest on his children - his proudest stories. We will miss him.
