Joan Bengtson Obituary
Died: May 16, 2014; in Woodstock
Joan D. Bengtson, age 83, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away peacefully at JourneyCare in Woodstock, Illinois on May 16, 2014.
She is survived by her three children, Arne (Cathy) Bengtson; Karen (Bill) Seegert; and Kristine (Bob) Scudder; her Grandchildren, Anna and Ryan Bengtson; Brad (Erin); Eric (Heidi); and Phil Seegert; Mark and Stephanie Scudder; and three Great Grandchildren, Evan; Avery; and Karlie Seegert. She is also survived by a sister, Roberta Hennings and her nephew, Roy Hennings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Charles Atkinson; and her husband, Milton.
She worked at Oaks Manufacturing until she retired at the age of 60. Joan was a talented artist and a longtime member of the T.N.T. Golf League. She was a well-seasoned world traveler visiting China, Australia, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Hawaii, Mexico, and most of the Caribbean Island nations. She was a woman with a great sense of humor and a wonderful story teller.
We will be celebrating the life and memory of Joan on May 30, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her name to JourneyCare Hospice at 527 West South Street, Woodstock, Illinois 60098. God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts.

So Sorry to read of your Mother's passing! I was not aware of your loss until just now , Saturday May 31, @ 4:20 pm. as I read online. If I can do anything please don't hesitate to contact me I could be there in an instant as you know. I feel so bad for your loss!

Dear Kris, Arne , Karen & families-I am so sad to hear of Joanie's passing! Though it's been many years since we worked together at Oak Industries, I still remember her with great fondness! She was so silly and I loved her stories & infectious laugh! She was such a doll & I really adored her! I pray that time and God's love brings you comfort and that you smile whenever you think of that very special angel you all have watching over you. With deepest sympathies.

Condolences to the family. Joan was a great leader in the Woodcarving Group of the C L Senior Citizens Club. I especially appreciated her help in painting my carvings.
