ELKHORN, Wis. - Leona J. "Lee" Poedtke, 83, of Elkhorn, Wis., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at her home.

The former Leona June Cook was born June 6, 1927, in Chicago, to the late Paul F. and Laura A. Schroeder Cook. On April 26, 1972, in Evanston, she married Henry G. Poedtke Jr. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2005.

She lived in Chicago, Cary, Brooksville, Fla., and Fox Lake before moving to Elkhorn in June 2008.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting and cake decorating.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean (Michael) Brogan of Elkhorn and Laura Hutchinson of Richmond; a son, Paul Hutchinson of Wausau, Wis.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Laura (Alice) Allgier of Lakeside, Calif., Verna Smith of Pourt Huernerne, Calif., and Jane Salsbury of Atlanta.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn; a sister, Margie; and a brother, Paul.

The Poedtke family will receive friends from 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, until the service at 7 p.m. at Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home in Genoa City. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago.
