Lucas Mitchell Spence

Born: June 7, 1992

Died: January 19, 2017

Lucas Mitchell Spence (Luke) 24 of Spring Grove, Illinois passed away on January 19th, 2017 after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis and complications from a double lung transplant.

Born June 7, 1992 in Champlin Minnesota the son of Michael and Linda (Meintzer) Spence. Lucas graduated from Richmond Burton Community High School in 2011, and received an Associates of Science degree from McHenry County College. He ran cross country for 7 years at NMS and RBCHS, enjoyed camping and any time he could spend with family and friends.

Lucas is survived by his parents, Michael and Linda of Spring Grove; his brothers, Jacob and Dustin; sister, Samantha (Christopher) Larson of Warrens, WI; and nephew, Charlie. He also leaves his grandparents, Gail and Neva Meintzer of DePere, WI; and Donald Spence of Pardeeville, WI.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Spence.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at:First Christian Church, 13022 Wilmot Rd., Kenosha, WI, 53142. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with a formal service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Lukes memory to: COTA (Childrens Organ Transplant Association) with Jacob Spence on the memo line to ensure Luke's twin will be provided for when his time comes for transplant, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
