Marcella Erickson was born on March 18, 1924 in Eyford Township, ND to Johann and Mathildur (nee Melstad) Kristjanson. She died Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Woodstock surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Erickson worked as a legal secretary for the State of North Dakota. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove. Marcella enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, playing cards and baking Traditional Scandinavian Recipes. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was loved by all.
Marcella is survived by her children, Sheila (David) DCamp and David (Denise) Erickson; grandchildren, Timothy DCamp, Devin Erickson, DJ Erickson, Melissa (Nate) Smith and Dana Erickson; siblings, Esther (the late Eldon) Syrup, Melvin (Karen) Kristjanson, Alfred (the late Sharon) Kristjanson, Joyce (the late Wally) Perila and George (Diane) Kristjanson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl; her parents; siblings, Joe Kristjanson, Kibby (Boyd) Hjalmarson, Emmy (Mundi) Gudmundsen, Helen (Harold) Hurley, and Marjorie Trenbeth.
Visitation Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2018 until the 11:00 am Funeral Service at Hope Lutheran Church, 1660 Checker Road, Long Grove, IL 60047. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hearthstone Communities, 920 N. Seminary Road, Woodstock, IL 60098 or Hope Lutheran Church, 1660 Checker Road, Long Grove, IL 60047.
