Michael A. Gaudio, age 36, of McHenry, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Michael was born October 19, 1979 in Chicago to George T. and Cathleen A. (Shanholtz) Gaudio. Raised in Wonder Lake, Michael attended Woodstock High School. Following high school, he worked in carpentry and electrical trades.
Since 2012, he was employed in engineering and tech services for Bombardier Transportation, working with the Chicago Transit Authority on their trains.
Enjoyments included snowmobiling, the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.
With unimaginable grief, Michael leaves behind his wife, Brooke, nee DeMarco; three young children, Lindsey (9), Anthony (7), and Giovonni (3); his mother and stepfather, Cathleen and Tom Thompson; his in-laws, Nancy and Terry DeMarco; his grandmother, Virginia Shanholtz; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Natalie (Barry Fricano) Gaudio-Fricano and Karen (Zach) Newberry; his brother-in-law, T.R. DeMarco; his nieces and nephew, Fallyn, Brooklyn, Sam, Madison, and Roxy; his brother, George Gaudio; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may visit with his family during a gathering to celebrate Michael's life from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at the McHenry VFW Post 4600, 3002 IL Route 120, McHenry, IL 60050.

Our hearts go out to the Gaudio family. I am at a loss for words hearing of Mike's passing. My heart aches for Brooke and his children, family and friends. Thoughts and prayers to you all. he will live on forever in all of those he loved.
