Michael McDonough Obituary

Michael J. M c Donough Michael J. McDonough; age 61 of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly, Monday December 2, 2013 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. He was born in Chicago, son of the late Hugh J. and Marillyn A. McDonough. He was united in marriage to the former Laurene "Suzy" Vycital at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on June 15, 1974. He 's been co-owner and President of Thomas Glass Inc. since 2003. Michael was a man rich with the love of his family and friends. He was an unabashedly humble man that many looked up to as a leader, mentor and friend. Michael was a man of diverse interests, he had a passion for cooking, whether it was in the kitchen or standing over a grill. He was an avid reader who enjoyed American history, he was also a collector of classic cars; his pride and joy was a "57 " Chevy. He also loved the outdoors, especially being out in his boat fishing. But his true passion in life was family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and will be truly missed by his wife of 39 years, Sue; 4 children, Patrick (Anita) McDonough of Belvidere, Illinois, Christopher (Rachel) McDonough of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Jaemie (Katherine) McDonough of Janesville, Wisconsin and Colleen (Kurt) Swanson of Pierre, South Dakota; Six grandchildren, Ella, Lucy, Naomi, Aiden, Conner and Clare; 8 Siblings, Patsy Schnyders of New Lenox, Illinois, James McDonough of Apollo Beach, Florida, Judith (Randall) Werre of Duluth, Georgia, Donna Jean Hanson of Verona, Wisconsin, Thomas (Linda) McDonough of Apollo Beach, Florida, Dennis (Margaret) McDonough of Pell Lake, Wisconsin, John McDonough of Pell Lake, Wisconsin and Diane (John) Nelson of Darien, Wisconsin, and by a host of other relatives and friends that knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Marie McDonough and brother-in-law Jacob Schnyders. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI. Memorial service will be at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod officiating. On-line guestbook can be found at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
