Michael Metras Obituary
Michael E. Metras, 75 of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on June 26, 2018.
Michael was born in 1943 in Watervliet, Michigan. He moved with his family to Woodstock, Illinois in 1953. Writing was his main career. Walking became his passion in later life walking on several paths in Europe and across the United states. In 2004 he was married to Petra Wolf in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Esther Metras; and a brother, Matthew (Jake) Metras.
He is survived by his wife, Petra; three sisters, Marie Klapperich, Marcia (Dan) Grubb, Madeline Metras; two brothers, Martin Metras, Maurice (Diane) Metras; and many nieces and nephews.

Although I only knew Mike for a relatively short time beginning in September 1972, he made an impression. He could combine bad jokes with deep insights.
