Mildred McCauley Obituary

MARENGO – Mildred J. McCauley, 94, of Marengo, formerly of Harvard, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Florence Nursing Home in Marengo.
She was born Aug. 16, 1918, to Paul H. and Rose O. (Zickuhr) Kunde in Union. She married D. Roland McCauley on March 2, 1940, in Harvard.
She was a member of several St. Joseph Parish and School groups, and she was a member of the Harvard Women of the Moose and the Golden Agers Kitchen band. She had served as an election judge and was a former Chemung Township assessor.
She gave selflessly of her time volunteering throughout the community. She was an avid outdoors lover, riding her bicycle while enjoying local conservation areas. She loved to polka and taught all of her children how to dance. We will miss you "Big Sipper."
Survivors include her children, Michael (Stacey) McCauley of Tennessee and Patricia (Craig) Woodhouse of Harvard; grandchildren, Sean (Jennifer) McCauley, Kimberly McCauley, Megan (Adam) Morris, Ryan McCauley and Keith (Adrianna) McCauley; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cheryl McCauley of Harvard; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Dennis and William; granddaughter, Katy; six brothers; and three sisters.
The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass celebration at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard. Father Rafael Tunarosa will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Pioneer Center for Human Services, 4001 W. Dayton St., McHenry, IL 60050, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, IL 60033.
