Milton 'Mickey' Kamholz

Died: January 20, 2024
Milton "Mickey" Kamholz, 88, of Woodstock passed away peacefully at home on January 20th. He was born in Cary, Illinois on June 11, 1935 to Gordon and Frances Kamholz.
He graduated from Crystal Lake High School, where he was known as "a swell guy," in 1953. In 1956 he enlisted in the Army where he trained as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was honorably discharged in 1958 with commendations as a sharpshooter.
In 1959 he met Virginia "Ginny" Scharmen, and they were married in 1960.
Mick was a Heavy Equipment Operator and member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 for 40 years. After retiring in 1998 he enjoyed tinkering with engines, working on projects, fishing and golfing. He was an equity member of the Cary Country Club.
Mickey was predeceased by his parents, his wife and his brother, Gordon Kamholz Jr. He is survived by his children, Natalie (Stephen) Secor, Nadine Dworzynski, and Kurt Kamholz; grandchildren Kyle (Allison), Jessica and Lucas Secor and Travis and Jerod Dworzynski; great grandchildren Cohen and Knox Secor. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne "Vonnie" Walsh and many nieces and nephews.
Mick will be remembered as a hard working family man and good friend who had a knack for comedic one-liners.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at the Cary Country Club on March 16th from 1-4 PM.
