Nancy Haimbaugh Obituary

Nancy Haimbaugh
Born: March 3, 1941 in River Forest, IL
Died: July 1, 2022 in Palatine, IL
Nancy Haimbaugh, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Palatine, Illinois on July 1, 2022. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Nancy was born March 3, 1941 in River Forest, Illinois to Harold and Ruth Rowe. She was the youngest of three children. Nancy attended school in River Forest and Wayland Academy for high school, graduating in 1959. In 1974 she received a degree in education from Northern Illinois University.
Nancy was a dedicated mother, community volunteer, teacher, mentor and entrepreneur. As president of her own professional recruitment firm, The Search Consulting Group, Nancy cultivated life-long professional and personal friendships. She was a member of Rotary of Chicago where she held leadership positions at a time when few women rose to that level of involvement. She was instrumental in organizing many of their charity fund raising events for children with disabilities.
During her retirement years, Nancy split her time between Palatine and Sedona, Arizona. She loved the bustle of the Chicago area and spending time with her son, Ron and grandson, Nathan. She also enjoyed the peaceful solitude and vistas of the high desert of Arizona and the many friends that she made in Sedona. Her love of travel took her all over the world, but her trip to Africa was particularly meaningful and led to her passion for elephants.
Nancy is survived by her son Ron Haimbaugh, her grandson, Nathan Haimbaugh and many nieces and nephews. She was greeted in heaven by her son, Brad, her parents, her brother, Harold Rowe, Jr and sister, Lois Petre. Nancy was blessed to have an extensive network of friends all over the country that will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Friday, July 8. A memorial visitation will take place from 1-3 pm and the service will begin at 3 pm at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067. The services will also be live streamed. To receive a link to view the streamed service, visit Nancy's memorial page at www.smithcorcoran.com or call 847-359-8020.

I remember Nancy since she was a baby. We were neighbors and her parents were such good friends of my parents`--many good memories of them also. Before Covid "2018 --we had a wonderful visit at my summer
home in Wis.. Her life was full of depth and good heartedness.
