Randall Klontz Obituary

Randall "Randy" Evan Klontz
Born: December 8, 1949 in Woodstock, IL
Died: November 19, 2023 in McHenry, IL
Randall Evan ('Randy") Klontz, 73, a lifelong McHenry resident, has unexpectedly died, while at his home. He was born December 8, 1949, in Woodstock, to Bruce W. and Matilda "Mitzi" (Zatlow) Klontz. He made McHenry his home for more than 70 years, interrupted only by college.
Mr. Klontz is a 1968 graduate of McHenry Community High School, attended Southern Illinois University, where he obtained an Associate of Business in Accounting degree, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Illinois State University in 1977.
Randy learned the electric motor repair trade while working at his father's business, McHenry Electric & Supply Co., McHenry, beginning as a part-time helper while in middle school. He became a very skilled and knowledgeable craftsman as an electric motor rewind technician and contributed at McHenry Electric as a Subject Matter Expert for all types of electrical machine rebuilding projects for well over 30 years, and later at Flolo Electric, then based in Bensenville, IL., until his retirement in 2011.
Randy also had a passion for building his own computers, for computer programming, and playing chess, as well as several different collection hobbies. His favorite of all activities was square dancing. At national conventions, he was one of the most sought partners, among hundreds and thousands.
Randy was known for his quiet, unassuming demeanor, his high expectations of his work, and maintained his gentle and sweet spirit despite the many obstacle's life handed him through no fault of his own. He will be missed by those who knew the man and soul on the inside.
He is survived by brothers; Bryan W. Klontz of Trinity, FL., Bryce C. (Jan) Klontz, Sr. of Raleigh, NC., Keith W. (Marianne) Klontz of Blaine, WA., and sisters; Lorilee J. Crnkovich of Downers Grove, and Louine A. Sternickle of Harvard, as well as 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Sharon (Klapperich) Klontz, brothers-in-law Kenneth Sternickle and Thomas 'Tip" Crnkovich, and grandnephew Jacob F. Klontz.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 4-8:00 pm at the Justen Funeral Home, 3700 W. Charles Miler Road, McHenry, IL. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
