Richard L. "Dick" Soukup, 93, of Huntley, formerly of Burlington, passed away Thursday morning January 4, 2018 in Crystal Lake.
He was born July 12, 1924 in Chicago the son of Lidislaw and Mary (Dvorak) Soukup. Dick was a Navy veteran of WWII. He married Gloria R. Mahlke on April 26, 1947 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elmhurst. They were residents of Elgin and Plato Twp. before moving to Burlington where they made their home for over 30 years.
Mr. Soukup had been a self-employed kitchen designer for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of North Plato and a member of the Hampshire American Legion Post # 680.
Surviving are four daughters, Janice Deeke, Carol (Steven) Kaczor, Joan (Craig) Rosenorn, and Cynthia Parisi; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria on January 16, 2008; and three sisters, Evelyn, Mary, and Elsie.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Feb. 24 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Rd. in Hampshire. Visitation will be prior to services at the church from 10:00 to 11:00am.
Inurnment with Military Honors will be in the Burlington Twp. Cemetery following the funeral luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
