Robert Ferraro Obituary

Robert Letts Ferraro
Born: September 13, 1937 in Montreal, Canada
Died: February 1, 2022 in Barrington, Il
Robert Letts Ferraro, 84, of Crystal Lake died Tuesday February 1st, 2022, in Barrington, Il at JourneyCare Hospice.
He was born September 13th, 1937 to U.S. Citizens John James and Edna Winifred (Letts) Ferraro in Montreal, Canada while his father was a player/coach for the Canadian Football League.
Known to everyone as Bob, he grew up in Waverly, PA. He earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Scranton. Upon graduation he joined the US Navy as an Ensign. He served as an officer aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga (CVA 60) from 1959-1962. Upon leaving the military he started his private sector career in sales with Mobil Oil Company in the greater New York metropolitan area. He worked for many different companies over the years in sales leadership positions.
He married Rebecca Franklin (Prasse) Ferraro on May 15th, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, PA. Together they created a loving home for their two sons and moved to Florida, New Jersey, and finally Crystal Lake. They remained married until Rebecca's passing on June 18th, 2002.
Bob was a long-time member of St. Mary Episcopal Church in Crystal Lake, serving as an usher on many a Sunday. Later in life he continued to work and enjoyed helping folks while working for CCCS of Greater Chicago as a credit counselor and as a server at Sam's Club in Crystal Lake. He was always quick with a "G-rated" joke and a smile to all he met and known for his continuous positive attitude towards life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca, an infant daughter, Angela Prasse Ferraro, his parents, and a brother John James Ferraro of Michigan.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Joan (Ferraro) Gannon of McHenry, Il; two sons, Arthur (Monica) Ferraro of Flagstaff, AZ & Andrew (Julie) Ferraro of Lakemoor, Il; two grandsons; a sister-in-law, Martha (Prasse) Jones of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his companion of 16 years, Shirley LeGare of Crystal Lake, and family.
Memorial services are pending for late Spring 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Episcopal Church, 210 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014 or to the charity of one's choice.

I worked with Bob for a short time in the early 1990s. He was a really nice man. High integrity and good humor the kind of guy we should all strive to be.

My memories of Bob were his kindness, sense of humor, amazing memory and an entertaining story teller. Always a big smile when he saw you, greeted you. I pray that he has peace now. Will miss him.

Bob was a very special person who I will hold dear in my heart forever. May your memories embrace you Drew and Art, and family. He spoke of you with such pride. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of grief.
