Robert Syversen Obituary

Robert E. Syversen, Jr.
Born: October 5, 1952 in Evanston, IL
Died: February 24, 2025 in Huntley, IL
Robert "Bob" E. Syversen, Jr., 72, of Huntley, IL, passed away on February 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 5, 1952, in Evanston, IL, Bob spent his early years in Chicago before moving to Crystal Lake as a teenager. He graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in 1970 and remained a lifelong resident of McHenry County.
A true gearhead, Bob worked in the automotive industry his entire life and took great pride in his cherished classic cars-a 1965 Mustang and a 1956 Thunderbird. He had a passion for biking, long walks, and reading, pursuits he enjoyed until Parkinson's Disease impacted his balance and eyesight. Bob was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and NASCAR. He held fond memories of summers spent at the family lake house in Delavan, WI, where laughter and good times were always abundant. Known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand, Bob was a friend to all and never hesitated to help with a project, big or small.
He is survived by his son, Erick Syversen; his sister and devoted caregiver, Susan Bridges; his brother, William (Kathleen) Syversen; his sister, Jean (Jeffrey) Lenard; nephews, Matthew Syversen and Michael Lenard; and nieces, Jessica Syversen and Kristen Lenard.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Syversen.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to JourneyCare Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Sue and family

So sorry to hear of Bob´s passing. My brother Bob and your Bob hung around together. He passed away 14 years ago. We lived on Gate 8. Remember that T-bird. We all had some good times. Kept in touch with your mom for awhile.

Take care. There were good times

We both share our birthdays and that must have been a sign. I have many wonderful memories of the both of us at Bob's ARCO, and happy to have known you and be my friend.
