Rose Potje Obituary

Rose (Edelmann) Potje
Born: March 11, 1929
Died: September 2, 2021
Rose (Edelmann) Potje passed peacefully into the care of Christ on September 2nd, 2021. She was in her own home, in the company of her children, she was without pain.
Rose was born in Chicago on March 11, 1929 to Philip and Catherine Edelmann, two Russian-German immigrants who met in the U.S. She was an only child and she became mother to five children.
Rose loved being a daughter, friend, church volunteer, choir member (where she met her husband, Kaspar), secretary, wife, mother, and especially an Oma.
Rose felt that the longer she lived, the more firmly she believed in God's Mysterious Ways directing our lives.
Rose saw life as a Sacred Journey, traveling with family, friends, and mentors, encouraging each other until we reach our final destination of Eternal Life.
Rose was preceded in death by Kaspar Potje, her husband of 51 years, and by her son, Joseph. She is survived by her children Maria, Anne, Peter, and Marianne, and her grandchildren August, Miles and Sonia.
Rose will be missed by all, yet we all feel a great Joy that she influenced our lives and she still lives in each of our hearts.
There will be a visitation at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue, Woodstock on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 9:30 am until the 10:30 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery in Crystal Lake.
