Sharon Lee Marshall, age 56, of McHenry passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015, at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington.
She was born on July 11, 1958, in Waukegan, Illinois the daughter of Herman L. and Darlene Joyce (Pounders) Johnson. Sharon married John Marshall on June 11, 1982, at First United Methodist Church in McHenry.
Sharon was the beloved mother of 3 and grandmother of 1. Sharon greatly enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandson and friends. Her Love for nature always drew her to her beloved flower gardens, biking, walking, and spending her summers boating on the chain o lakes. She also found enjoyment with trips to Chicago with her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband, John; her 3 children, Sarah A.(Brandt) Fick, John M. Marshall and Meghan E. Marshall; her grandson, Landon Marshall Fick, her parents; her siblings, Lynnette (Bruce) Thomas, Herbert (Annette) Johnson, Gary (Christine) Johnson and Sandra (Stuart) Vanstralen.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman (Mary) Johnson, John (Dorothy) Partain, Jim (Paulene) Pounders; her in-laws, Charles (Virginia) Marshal; and her brother-in-law, Charles Marshall.
Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. Memorial service will begin at 11:30a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL. Interment will be private.

Sharon, it was meant to be that day that I walked into your Carter's store and applied for a job. First it was your genuine respect for me as your employee, which was unusual for a retail job, but sooooo appreciated. Then it was my jealousy because of how tall you were LOL ! You were able to see OVER the clothing racks (to catch those shoplifters), reach the upper hooks on the walls without having to run around looking for one of those hard to use clothes hooks, and you could grab that top box off the tall stack in the back room without dropping it on me! Next came a friendship between us which continued even after I left Carter's. That's when I realized just how far those long legs of yours could take you with each step :-) When we went out together, you always accidentally left me in your dust! When you suggested that we start walking the mall for exercise, I nearly s*** in my pants LOL. And we were there for each other during the happy times, and the sad times. I hope your family & friends will find some comfort in their memories of their time spent with you. I will miss you terribly my sweet friend. Make sure that you tend to the gardens in heaven so that they look beautiful when I come join you some day. LOVE YOU GIRL !
