Shirley Mae (Pulver) Schrader (Rath) Wiederkehr, 90 years 11 months of Woodstock passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025 with 2 of her daughters by her side
Born in Wayne, Illinois on February 14, 1934 to Frederick and Rose Pulver. As a toddler she was adopted and raised in Elgin by her maternal grandparents Peter and Anna Schrader.
She was a homemaker, partner in agriculture and waitress. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1952 and married Richard R. Rath they had 4 children. They would divorce. She would later marry Lester Wiederkehr and they had 1 daughter.
Over the years Shirley enjoyed bowling, rollerskating, camping, baking and trying new recipes. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Union and was a member of Ladies Aid which covered many important church outreach events. She was a member of the church quilting group creating and donating hundreds of quilts to local charities.
Shirley is survived by her children: Sandy (Hank) Wozniel, Alan Rath, Rick (Melissa) Rath, Sherrie (Ron) Moritz and Sheryl (David) Gigaroa. Ten grandchildren: Phil Wozniel, Joe and David Rath, Mark and Paige Moritz DVM, Donovan Jones, Shawna and Steven Ruck, Mitchell and Madison O'Grady. She had 8 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and a life long friend Rosie Barnes Sisti of CA.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher, a daughter in law Terri Rath, her parents, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.
If you knew Shirley you loved her. She will be greatly missed.
Service as follows: Saturday January 11th, 2025: Visitation from 9:30 a.m., until service at 11 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Union. Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the family would be appreciated.
