Thomas Ligocki Obituary

MARENGO – Thomas L. Ligocki, 63, of Marengo, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1948, in Evanston and lived there until he was 10. He then moved to Glenview and lived there until he made his home in Marengo.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Marion (Smitty) and Irene Ligocki.
He married Lorri Klatt in 1980, and they were blessed with baby Christopher in 1982, and the TLC family was complete.
Tom worked for several big companies such as DuPont, IBM and Kodak during the earlier days of computer-generated specialty programs as an installer and maintenance technician.
His favorite pastime was participating in sporting events with Chris or watching games together.
Tom was involved with several community theater companies. He never met a stage he didn't volunteer to perform on. Telling jokes and swapping stories with the guys also was on the 10 best things list.
He leaves behind his beloved family: wife, Lorri, and son, Chris; Dad and Ma Klatt; sister-in-law, Linda Schmidt and her children, Kari, Donovan, and Katie. Special almost-family: Jennifer Trickett and Michael Hanson; sister, Gayle (Tom) Doporzcyk and their children and grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Larry (Nancy) Klatt and daughters.
The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, followed by the service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served afterward at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the family.
