William Durgan Obituary
He was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Battle Ground, Wash. A U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served his country during World War II, Dean, aka "Captain," was an avid sailor, a United Airlines pilot for 38 years, a member of Sky Soaring Glider Club in Marengo, and a member of the Sun City Aviation Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Dennis (Debi Bibb) Durgan, Kathi Yamonouchi, Lori (Bill) Platt, Joseph (Bette) DiAngelo, Michael DiAngelo and Tracy (Gary) Stanko; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his twin sister, Jean Rasmussen; and a sister, Joann (Jim) Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a brother.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be directed to EAA Young Eagles Program, 8407 Pyott Road, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156.

My twin Dean was always true competition with grades and leadership during our grade school and High school years; but he was always gentle with a smile.
