Albert Mizerak

1938 - 2025

Albert Paul Mizerak, 87, of Valparaiso, IN, gained his angel wings on September 20, 2025, at VNA Hospice NWI Center in Valparaiso. Al was a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana.

Al was a compassionate, caring, and talented father who always prioritized helping family and friends. He was a man of quiet strength and gentle spirit, known for his patience and humility. Gifted with his hands, he loved building, fixing, and sharing his knowledge. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career for more than 40 years as Maintenance Foreman for Vale Park Apartments (Urschel Development Corp.) in Valparaiso before retiring.

Al will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know this remarkable man and his beautiful soul. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Stackert; son, Scott (Shannon) Mizerak; six grandkids, Sarah (Chris) Kors, Steven (Rebecca) Stackert, Tyler (Christina) Mizerak, Tanner (Angel) Mizerak, Katie Mizerak, Kasidy Mizerak; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Serynek; sister, Joyce Boswell; and ex-wife Beverly Sullivan (Skalku).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at VNA Hospice NWI Center in Valparaiso for the compassionate care they provided to Al.

In honor of Al's life and the quiet generosity he showed every day, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness for someone in need - lend a hand, speak a kind word, or simply be present for someone going through a hard time. The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
