Anthony "Antoni" Burzynski MUNSTER, IN - Anthony "Antoni" Burzynski, 81, of Munster, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (nee Czerny); two sons: Ted (Marcie) Burzynski and Ed (Kim) Burzynski; four grandchildren: Christina, Andrew, Teresa and Michael; one sister: Boguslawa (late Adam) Zawisza; two brothers-in-law: Richard Jankiewicz and Joseph Demkowicz; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Feliks and Helena Burzynski, and his sister, Stefania Jankiewicz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, with 12:00 Noon Mass DIRECTLY at the Carmelite Monastery, 1628 Ridge Road, Munster, IN. Burial will follow at St. John - St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Visitation Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the ANTHONY & DZIADOWICZ FUNERAL HOME, 9445 Calumet Ave. (at 45th St.), Munster, and Saturday morning from 11:30 to 12:00 noon at the Monastery. Tony was born in Poland in 1936. The family was taken to Germany during WWII to a forced labor camp. After the war his family was put into a Displaced Persons Camp in Hohenfels, Germany. In 1949, the family immigrated to the U.S. where they worked for a family on a farm in Kansas. A short time later his family moved to Chicago for better work. He attended Holy Trinity in Chicago for grade school and high school and he played for the Arsenal Soccer Club in Chicago. Tony met his wife while playing soccer at Block Stadium in East Chicago, IN. They were married in 1962. Tony was a former supervisor at Hammond Organ in Chicago, IL, Blaw-Knox in East Chicago, IN, and Globe Building in Whiting, IN. He was currently employed and was "Employee of the Year" for three years at Express Cargo Connection in Hammond, IN. Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Connelly Council #1700 (East Chicago) who will have a Prayer Service Friday at 7:00 p.m.
