Barbara A. Beiner, age 87 of Lansing, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Barbara was born on March 9, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Mary Matlosz. Barbara Beiner wife of the late Al Bartkiewicz and the late Felix Beiner, she is survived by Tami late Rob Moroney, Tracy and Ray VanWitzenburg and the late Timothy Bartkiewicz. Cherished Sister of the late Richard and (Cindy) Matlosz. Loving grandmother of Michael and Holly VanWitzenburg, Steven (girl friend Louisa) Vanwitzenburg. Barbara is also survived by her three loving nieces, Debbie and Mike O'Conner, Susan and Don Kawasaki and Sandra Matlosz and Barbara's Virginia family.
Barbara was a special education teacher at Nathan Hale School in Lansing, Illinois for 40 years. She was very passionate and dedicated to all her students that passed through her class. Barbara was also a world traveler she had been to many different counties. Our mother, especially loved going to the Michigan Lakehouse every summer with her family. She also enjoyed going to the opera and many plays in downtown Chicago. Our mother had wonderful neighbors, Glenn and Becky who helped her out immensely and she loved them very much.
Our mother had many friends who thought she was a powerhouse in many aspects of her life. She was an amazing mother and woman who also raised three children on her own and we all turned out pretty damn good. Also she loved her dog Callie very very much. Callie is going to miss her mom, but she will be with Tami now. You will be missed. We love you and always, rest in peace mom.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with services beginning at 6:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with Father Greg Skowron officiating.
