Barbara Anne Rhind

BARBARA ANNE RHIND PLANO, TX Barbara Anne Rhind, age78, of Plano, TX formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away on May 2, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas A. Rhind; her children: Thomas (Mary) A. Rhind, Alexander (Liz) W. Rhind, and Robert S. Rhind; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Slathar; brothers: Robert H. Stanners and Richard Scott Stanners; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara graduated from Hammond High School in 1955 and married Tom Rhind from Hammond in 1957. She started her career in 1969 as a volunteer for the Munster School systems and a science teacher at Wilber Wright Middle School. In 1980, Barbara, joined Financial Facts in Highland and then in 1987 relocated with her husband to Plano, TX as a National Coordinator for Jefferson Pilot. She retired in 1999 to a favorite pastime of cruising the world with her husband and friends; but most of all spending time with her family. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave, Munster. Visitation with family will be also on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandmother.
