Barbara A. Wegner, nee Warmelink, age 85, of Dyer, IN, formerly a longtime resident of South Holland, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 28, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Wendell A. Wegner. Loving mother of Lisa (Jim) Morris, Rob (Michelle) Wegner, and the late infant Cynthia Annette Wegner. Proud grandmother of Joshua (LeeAnna) Morris, Maddie Wegner, Whitney Wegner, Lauren Morris, and Belle Wegner and a doting great-grandmother of Ruth Morris. Dearest sister of the late Charles (late Lorraine) Warmelink, the late Bonnie Beals, Martha (Don) Doffin, Ronald (late Gail) Warmelink, JohnWarmelink, David (Patricia) Warmelink, and Michael (Annette)Warmelink. Preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Ruth Warmelink.

Barbara was a beloved woman who wore many hats. She was an office manager for the Trustees of School district office in South Holland, IL for many years. She was a member of Lorimer Baptist Church in Dolton, IL where she taught children's Sunday School. Barbara cherished spending time with her family and friends. She loved working in her yard and on her beautiful flowers, along with decorating her home for every holiday…especially Christmas. She courageously battled cancer and inspired others with her strength. She touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.
