Carmen "June" Herr

Carmen "June" Herr, 84 of Kouts passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was born February 13, 1941, to Robert & Helen (Hill) Peterson. June made her career as a baker with the Valparaiso Community Schools food service for 22 years. She was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, enjoyed gardening and painting ceramics.

On April 1, 1965, she married Franklin L. Herr who preceded her in death in 2022. Survivors include their children: Lucille (David) Trumbo of Kouts, William Herr of Kouts, James Herr of Westville, grandchildren: Ericka, Mathew & Rebbecka, Yeni (Jon), great-grandchildren: Breana, Lucas, Kahleesi & Luna, great great-granddaughter, Emyrson, brother, Frank Hodges of Arizona, and sisters: Jenny Berente & Marlene (Kelly) Mann both of California.

A private family celebration of June's life will be held at a later date. Kosanke Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
