Christian Choate Obituary
Christian Milton Choate, age 13, passed away in Gary, IN. He leaves his mother, Aimee Eriks Estrada; two sisters: Christina Coate and Alyssa Nieto; two step-brothers: Justin Estrada and Anthony Estrada; aunts: Theresa (Micheal) Harmon, Cindy (John) Oulensby, Kristen (Johnny) Serrata, and Jennifer Eriks; stepfather, Silas Estrada; maternal grandparents: Bernard and Carol Eriks; maternal great grandparents: Barbara Rhone and Hildreth Eriks; and a special father figure; Daniel Nieto. Also a host of other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. All services will be held in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN (219) 980-5555. Christian will be deeply missed by his family and dear friends. God Grant Him Eternal Rest. Donations may be made in care of Ridgelawn Funeral Home.

I love you Christian so much and wish you had been my son. You weren't given the chance to see what a difference you could make in peoples live, but you have. I have always loved my boys who are now 11 (Jorden) and my 16 year old (Austen, who was born the same year as you) but you have shown me something that has caused my love to grow deeper. My heart breaks for you. I wish I had known you so that I could have helped somehow. Your story has really hit me hard and I am even more determined to give some kids a home where they feel loved and taken care of. Dear Aimee. Just to let you know Christian did not die in vain. There will be justice for your beautiful little boy. I have a son who is 10 days younger than Christian. He saw Christian's picture and told me he would have been honored to have had him as a friend if my son had known him. I know that Christian is looking down from heaven and telling you that he is fine and to not worry or cry anymore. Even though I have never met Christian, my heart and soul hurt for him. Your baby is now at peace with Jesus and no one can hurt him anymore. God bless you and Christian.

It saddens me that a child had to hurt so much and that he had to pass away alone, cold and feeling unwanted and unloved by those around him. I have a hard time understanding this tragedy. The silver lining however is that this young man is safe and warm and loved in heaven. He has the peace for body and soul that he so greatly deserves. Rest in Peace Christian <3 The Huber Family

This has affected me profoundly. I have a 13 year old grandson whose looks are similar to Christian's. I cry often and I cannot understand how this could have happened to this beautiful child of God. The whole story of Christian has even affected my once good faith in God. I am sure Christian is in Heaven and I even talk to him sometimes, because this has so profoundly affected me. None of this should have happened to him at all.
