Christine Foelber Obituary

Christine C. Foelber, 73, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born September 24, 1951, in Marinette, Wis., to the late Rev. Herbert and Colleen (Zoeller) Walther. Christine graduated as Valedictorian from Van Wert High School in Ohio in 1969, and went on to receive her bachelor's and master's degrees from Valparaiso University in Nursing. She made her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Christine was a member of Hope of Israel Congregation in Valparaiso. She enjoyed showcasing her creative talents through fabric arts including quilting, weaving, and knitting. Christine loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered as a beautiful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
On March 9, 1974, Christine married David A. Foelber, Sr., who survives, along with their children: Joshua (Michelle) Foelber, David (Faith) Foelber, and Ruth (Kris) Martin; grandchildren: Jeremiah, Luke, Isaac, Josiah, Mercy, Hannah, Hosanna Foelber, and Zachariah and Aaron Martin; siblings: Dr. Philip (Donna) Walther and Anne Walther; and nephews: Benjamin, Andrew, and Thomas Walther. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Jonathan Foelber.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hope of Israel Congregation, 504 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, Ind. 46383, or Heartland Christian Center, 170 S. State Rd. 49, Valparaiso, Ind. 46383.

So sad to hear of Chris’s passing. Chris was my clinical instructor and co-worker in the ICU at Porter Memorial Hospital. We both graduated from Valparaiso University College of Nursing.
Chris was an accomplished and dedicated Christian nurse, wife, mother and servant to others. Her knitting and other needlework was as lovely as she was.
We lost touch in recent years but I’m sure she was a devoted and loving grandmother, too. I will always remember her.
My deepest sympathy to David, her children and grandchildren. May they find comfort knowing Chris is resting in God’s loving arms and in all the beautiful memories of her.
