Clifford Battle Obituary

Clifford G. Battle Gary Clifford G. Battle, age 56, of Gary, IN, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at home. He is survived by two daughters: AlTrease Yvette Battle of Hammond, IN and NaKeyia LaToy Battle of East Chicago, IN; one grandson, Don-Dre Rhea; step-daughter, LaQuenta A. Hawkins of Atlanta, GA; step-granddaughter, QueeAna Green; two brothers: Ernest Bass of Gary, IN and Alex Marion of MN; three sisters: Sandra (Clifford) Bostic and Marsha Taylor both of East Chicago, IN and Lori (Fairfax) Green of Gary, IN; stepmother, Minnie Hahney of East Chicago, IN; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents: Jimmy Harris and Australia Bass; brother, Cedric Jefferson; and grandmother, Lucille Thomas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at New Community Baptist Church, 5461 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Patrick Gillis officiating. Mr. Battle was an employee of U.S. Steel for 38 years. Private cremation was held at the family's convenience. Hinton & Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
