Daniel Luczak Obituary
Daniel Christopher Luczak, age 36, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Amy (Wright); beloved son of Rita Luczak of Schererville and James Luczak also of Schererville; three brothers: Robert (LeAnne) Luczak of Chicago, IL, William (Jennifer) Luczak of Zionsville, IN, and Jonathan (Jackie) Luczak of Merrillville; aunt, Judith Luczak of Highland; and caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his grandparents: Thomas and Catherine Harte, and Roman and Rose Luczak. Dan was a graduate of Lake Central High School (1992) and Ball State University (1996). He worked as a paramedic Supervisor for Prompt Ambulance Service and proudly served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman. Dan deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. He was raised in Chicago, IL and was a resident of Portage, IN. Dan was a hard worker and had a passion for the medical field. He loved to play golf and enjoyed his Chicago sports teams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area or the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave., St. John with a funeral service to follow at St. John the Evangelist Church (Day Chapel) at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. www.fagenmiller.com

I'm so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I was a classmate at Kahler and Lake Central and have many fond memories of Dan, esp. from Kahler band days. You're all in my thoughts.

With sincere sympathy for your loss. I am one of the guys that have enjoyed playing pick up basketball with Dan at Salem Luthern Church in Homewood, IL over the years and we will all miss him. He has got game.

I had the great pleasure and priviliege to work with "Danno" as well as for him. He was always willing to help Paramedic students practice what they were learning. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Amy, you and your family will be in our prayers.
