I WILL CALL HIM DANNY BECAUSE THAT IS HOW I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM. HE WAS ALWAYS GIVING ME A HARD TIME WITH HIS HUMOR. I WILL MISS HIM SO VERY MUCH EVEN THOUGH WE HAVEN'T SEEN EACH OTHER THAT OFTEN ONLY AT OUR CLASS GETTOGETHERS OR FUNERALS (SAD TO SAY). I WAS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL GEORGIA BECAUSE I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. IF NOT, I SURELY WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. PLEASE TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME. TRUST ME IT WILL GET EASIER BUT NEVER GO AWAY. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FUNNY REMARKS DAN ALWAYS MADE TO ME. LOVE NANCY (CWETNA) KRAUS

Though years pass and we lose contact, there are always those special people we remember and think of fondly -- Danny Petree is certainly one of those. He had such a cheerful countenance and great smile, and a way to make you just feel happy. Nate & I send our most sincere sympathy to Georgia and his families.

Danny was a class cut-up in Lincoln School. Everyone loved him and felt good when he was around. At TFTHS he remained...Danny. I'll miss him at reunions and I know that all who live near him will miss him very much. May God's blessings be on those remaining.

It has been quite a few years that we have been back to Chicago and able to spend time with Dan, but the visits back will be sad knowing he is no longer there. He will be in our prayers.

We have such fond memories of Dan and Georgia. WE attended their wedding and had such a good time! His dry wit always was a reason to laugh a lot while around him. We send our sincere condolences to his friends and family.

My heart is so heavy. Dan will surely be missed. He was thoughtful, funny, loved everyone. I, too, had many phone conversations with him before I got to talk to Georgia. I am so glad I got to know him.

Danny was a very special person in my life, my family's lives, and my parent's lives from his birth on July 2, 1937, exactly 6 months prior to mine. We have remained friends throughout our lives even when not in contact for long periods of time. He was always the same, outgoing, giving, and an exuberant person be it entertaining my parents, talking about Georgia, as a guide for my family on trips to Chicago, talking about old times and new ones, and being a super fan for the White Sox. He will be missed by all of the Miller family.

Dan was a special friend for many years. I remember when we were single and he would call me at my parent's home--My Mom or Dad would be on the phone with him for 5 or 10 minutes before they would say,"It's for you,It's Danny" He was a great guy and I will miss him.
