Daniel Witting Obituary
Daniel Michael Witting "Bud" passed away peacefully on June 11, 2014 at the University of Chicago Hospital. He was surrounded by his family and a tremendous amount of love from his parents: Michael and Jan Witting; sisters: Carrie (Andrew) Lewis, Crissy (Eric) Simmons, and Melissa Witting (Jason Talley). Dan is also survived by his grandfather, Michael Ernest Witting; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan was born in Munster, IN on April 1, 1983. He graduated from Munster High School in 2001 and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, receiving the Operation Iraqi Freedom medal. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces: Olivia Witting and Ella Simmons; and nephew, Charlie Lewis. Dan loved spending his time helping others, landscaping, fishing, and building. He was a naturally gifted athlete and was passionate about playing baseball and frisbee golf. Dan's bravery and spirit will continue to live in his family's hearts forever. A wake will be held honoring Dan at Burns-Kish Funeral Home (8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321) Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM (Central Time), with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM. This was one of the many original writings Dan wrote recently. Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers. It means so much to hear from family and friends, some we haven't been in touch with for a long time. Always remember your friendship has always been in our heart and we have missed you all. Don't let too much more time come between those in your hearts and thoughts. We never know what tomorrow brings. Danny- I am thinking of you constantly. You are everywhere I turn. I'm so grateful to have been best buds with you for so many years; it just still bewilders me that you are gone. All of our times at Papa's, your house, Riverside, in Michigan, or our rides through the country roads... Every day together was an adventure, everywhere we went. You will forever be in my heart and always on my mind.
