Dear David,
It's been 8 long years since you've been gone and I will love and miss you always and forever until I see you again in Heaven. I know you are in a much happier place and in no pain - for that much I am grateful, but it is still so hard without you here. I'm trying to focus on all of the wonderful and beautiful memories we had with each other and our families. You had so many dreams and were such a thoughtful and caring person. I miss that in you among a million other things. I am always thinking and praying for you until we see each other again. I love and miss you so very much, Mom

Seven years have gone by since you went to Heaven. It's been seven years and you have been and still are missed terribly. We're glad your not in pain anymore and are with the Lord. But we miss you and look forward to the day we will see you with the Lord in Heaven. Happy 40th Birthday my sweet David! I wish you were here with us in person to celebrate. But I know you are here in spirit. Dad bought you a cake today and is making ribs for your birthday. I was very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Although it's been many years, he is among the most compassionate and giving people I've ever known. A beautiful soul who viewed this world from such a unique perspective. I'm certainly better for having known him.
My condolences extend to his family, friends, and loved ones. I have made a donation to Humane Society Calumet Area in memoriam.

David was one of my students, and such a wonderful person. When I was collecting laptop computers to send to a school for girls from distressed backgrounds in East Africa, Dave was right there to help. He loved to talk about ways he could help make the world a better place. In his short life, he did do just that.

I am extremely sorry to hear about Dave's passing. We were friends at a young age, and think of him from time to time even though we haven't seen each other for a long while. He is a genuinely good person, and am sure he is now in a better place.
I am happy to have known him, and spend time with him when we were young. He always was happy, and had a good heart.
