David Mako Obituary
June 4, 1950 - July 18, 2023
CROWN POINT, IN - David John Mako, age 73, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy Mako (nee Mihalik); two sons: Zach (Abby) Mako, Matt Mako; two grandchildren: Emily and Jacob Mako; brother, John (Sheri) Mako; mother-in-law, Mary (late Jim) Mihalik; sister-in-law, Kathy (David) Zerr; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
David was preceded in death by parents: John and Lois Mako.
David was born and raised in Gary, IN and Crown Point, IN. He was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 1968. After graduating, he worked for ANCO for 2 years and then worked for and retired from U.S. Steel as an electrical maintenance worker with 46 years of service.
David coached his son's little league, T-Ball, and Pups basketball teams. He was an avid supporter of Purdue and also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears play.
David's main interest was his family. He was very passionate in providing a good life for them and would do anything for them to exceed in life. He will be dearly missed.
Private services were held for David's family.
He will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn and Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in David's name to Hydrocephalus Association, hydroassoc.org

Cindy,and family, I am so sorry to hear this. He was a great Man,teacher at work for 41 of my years at US Steel. He was my " to go to man" if I needed anything or help. He will be missed always. He´ll be with you always just think of him and he will be with you. Take care .
