David Mirich Obituary

DAVID MIRICH MERRILLVILLE, IN David Mirich, age 84, of Merrillville, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Dave was a 1948 graduate of Lew Wallace High School, attended West Point Military Academy and Valparaiso University. He was co-owner of Mirich Real Estate with his brother, Bernie. Dave retired from there but he never really stopped 'doing' until he had Alzheimer's Disease. He was a former Merrillville town councilman. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine (Janesik) Mirich; father, Charles Mirich; wife, Arlene (Bollen) Mirich, and brothers: Bernard (Bernie) Mirich, Art Mirich, Chuck Mirich. He is survived by two daughters: Diane 'Dee' Mirich of Crown Point and Jennifer (Bill) Johnson of Georgia; two grandchildren: Brennan and Erin Johnson; brother, Dr. Ernest (Eleanor) Mirich; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with services at 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway in Merrillville. Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Dee and Jennifer I am so sorry to hear about your Father. He was a wonderful man and I will miss going to visit him at Golden Living. Just remember he is now an angel looking down from heaven with love. You can always look up to the sky at night time and watch for him to light his candle.
