Dennis Settle Obituary
Dennis Settle, age 65, of Knox, IN passed away on Wednesday October 16, 2013. He was born on October 10, 1948 in Gary, IN to George and Dorothy (Komoroski) Settle, who preceded him in death. Dennis is survived by his wife, April (Collins) Settle of Knox, IN; son, Dennis (Annette) Settle of Spencer, IN; daughter, Dawn (Gabe) Tartaglia of LaMonte, IL; stepson, Chad (Laura) Olmsted of Richmond, IN; stepdaughter, Lori Shields of Valparaiso, IN; brothers: George (Debbie) Settle of Portage, IN and Mark Settle of Miller, IN; sisters: Kathy (Jack) Garzella of Chesterton, IN and Terry (Ron Graham) Gibson of TN; uncle, Ralph (Shirley) Settle of Crown Point, IN; grandchildren: Jordyn Taylor Smith, Clayson Settle, and Sheldyn Settle; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dennis was a U.S. Army veteran, worked as an expediter at U.S. Steel, and a member of the Local Union 2695. He was a member of the American Legion Post 279 in Miller. Dennis enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and golfing with his friends throughout Northwestern Indiana. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Chaplain Craig Forwalter officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation services provided by Heritage Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.ee-fh.com.
