Unfortunately, I was just told about the passing of Donna Trimmer this morning. I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Donna was a fun person who I used to work with at Inland Steel. I enjoyed her humor and know she cared for her family. Although we only kept in touch minimal after her days at Inland, it was always enjoyable. May she rest in peace. My sincere condolences to her family.

Donna and I met at Edison in junior high and she became a part of our little circle which ran through Hammond High and beyond. To say she was cherished by her old friends is so true. We adored her sense of honesty and truthfulness. Donna called a spade a spade, but she was always a faithful friend. Her outspoken attitude was so refreshing, especially in a time of relativism and self promotion. She called my husband a seat-belt Nazi because he insisted she wear one when we drove her to the 55th HS reunion events, but he loved her, too and we both cried to hear of her passing. My husband reminds me she accused him of getting fresh when she had trouble fastening the seat belt and he tried to help her. She loved her children with all her heart. She was a special lady and will be missed by all who truly loved her.

Donna was a very special and wonderful friend of my sister Carol's from Hammond High. I knew her to be a dear and loving person too! My prayers to her family: May the Lord bless you and hold you closely in His loving arms. May He fill you with the gentle comfort of His Holy Spirit and keep you constant in His warm and tender care. Sincerely,
